ADAMS COUNTY

Recycling Information

  • The Recycling “Trailer” is a thing of the past.  We are going to roll-off containers.  This will speed up the unloading process.

  • The containers will be available for you to bring items over starting at 5 pm on Thursday thru noon on Tuesday.  This is because of so many people wanting longer hours or unable to come on a Saturday.  We hope to improve participation and reduce cost.  You will follow the same Saturday schedule.  1st Payson; 2nd Liberty; 3rd Camp Point and 4th Mendon.

  • With 2 containers, items will not need to be sorted as much.  All paper will go into one container (newspapers, office paper, junk mail, magazines, cardboard and chipboard and hardboard books.)  The other container will be  for #1 and #2 plastics, tin and aluminum mixed together.

  •  One MAJOR change will be we will no longer accept plastic bags.  ALL ITEMS  must be removed from any bags (Please return your plastic grocery bags to the store.)  Paper items in paper bags can be recycled with paper.

  • Also, this will be an unattended drop off, so if you have a lot of stuff you may want to get some help or meet someone there that can help unload.

  • It is important that everyone watch what is put in these containers.  Abuse will warrant the closing of the program (We are looking at the possibility of a video camera at each site.

  • Items accepted:  Plastics #1 & #2 inside recycling symbol. Tin and aluminum cans; Paper (cardboard boxes flattened if empty, junk mail, office paper, chipboard, magazines, soft and hard bound book.  No trash allowed.  Glass is only accepted at 6th and State from 8am-12 noon on Saturday.
